1, 6-hexadiol, also known as 1, 6-dihydroxymethane, or HDO for short, has a molecular formula of C6H14O2 and a molecular weight of 118.17. At room temperature, it is a white waxy solid, soluble in ethanol, ethyl acetate and water, and has low toxicity.
The structure of 1, 6-hexadiol contains two terminal primary hydroxyl groups with high activity, which makes it easy to react with organic acids, isocyanates, anhydride and other acids to generate different types of derivatives.
1, 6-hexadiol is an important fine chemical material, which is mainly used to produce active monomer of light curing coating, polycarbonate polyol and polyester industry.As a chain extender used in synthetic leather and adhesive field;Polyesters for synthetic coatings (iron plate coatings, coil coatings, powder coatings);Synthetic medicine, fragrance intermediates 1, 6- dibromohexane and other fields.
